The One Stop Shop grant provides homeowners with a complete home energy upgrade solution where service providers, registered with approved by SEAI, manage the entire process for you, from the initial assessment of your home, through to the final BER assessment. Most homes will enjoy substantially higher grants through the One Stop Shop incentive compared to single measure grants. There are also grants available for a much broader range of measures, including windows, doors, rafter insulation, new radiators, advanced ventilation and airtightness improvements.
Before you start
Before you start, you will need to check that your home or property is eligible. The One Stop Shop service is available to homeowners whose property or home meets these criteria:
- The property or home was built and occupied before 2011
- It has an existing BER of B3 or lower and must achieve a minimum rating of B2 on work completion, with a 100kWh/m2/year or better improvement on the BER primary energy value
- Has not previously received grants for the same home energy upgrades
It’s important to note that the grants are only available through the SEAI registered list of One Stop Shop providers, listed HERE.
Range of services provided by registered One Stop Shop providers
- Home Energy Assessment
A detailed report which outlines the best upgrades to bring your home up to a B2 BER rating or better, and an estimate for the cost of these retrofit works.
- Grant application
They will apply and accept all SEAI grants for your project and deduct the values upfront from the cost of your works.
- Project management
They will manage all the works at your home and ensure quality checks are carried out.
- Contractor works
They will assign a contractor to carry out the works on your home.
- Follow up BER
A registered BER Assessor will complete your post-works BER assessment and publish the certificate.
- Finance Options
Some One Stop Shops can offer you finance options through their finance partners.
- Home Energy Upgrade Loan Scheme
You can apply for Government-backed, low-cost loans to upgrade the energy performance of your home.

Before proceeding, SEAI encourage you to make sure that this is the right scheme for you. You must be looking to make substantial energy upgrades to your home and achieve a Building Energy Rating of at least a 'B2' at the completion of works. In most circumstances, you may need to install multiple measures to meet this requirement. Upon contact, the One Stop Shop will ask you some basic questions for a preliminary assessment to determine if your home is suitable for an energy upgrade and what supports are available.
