A hotel which was worth €2.4 million during the boom was sold for just under €700,000 at the Allsop Space auction in the RDS yesterday.
The 46-bed Hilamar Hotel in Kinnegad, Co Westmeath was snapped up by a mystery buyer for €695,000 – well above its €285,000 reserve.
Grant’s Hotel in Roscrea, Co Tipperary also sold on the day for €395,000, while other notable sales included a four bed Georgian house near the Phoenix Park, which went for €580,000, a two bed apartment on Wolfe Tone Street in Dublin 1, which went for €170,000 and a row of houses with three bedsits at Seaport Parade, which sold for €410,000.
In total €10.85m was raised at yesterday’s auction, with a further six properties selling prior to the event.
