Today is GOAL Jersey Day, the annual fundraiser which takes place across Ireland and, indeed, the world to support GOAL’s work with vulnerable communities.
Running for over 35 years, it has become a firm favourites with communities, clubs, workplaces and schools to show their spirit and help a very worthy cause.
On GOAL Jersey Day tens of thousands of people don their favourite sports jerseys in support of the charity, which works in 15 countries globally, helping people whose lives and livelihoods have been shattered by conflict, disease and climate change.
Of course, jerseys are worn by many people on a daily basis regardless of fundraisers with many even giving them pride of place in their home by framing or hanging shirts from special occasions on the walls of their homes.
