Up to 400 jobs to be created by €40m upgrade to St Patrick's College

The government has allocated almost €40 million towards the upgrade of the St Patrick’s teacher training college in Drumcondra.

Up to 400 direct and indirect jobs are expected to be created during the two years of construction it will take to build the new facilities and upgrade the existing ones.

Work at the North Dublin campus is set to commence in the coming months.

The college was built to accommodate 800 pupils but now has an enrolment of more than 2,000. When complete, the college will be able to comfortably accommodate 2,500 students, alleviating over-crowding and improving lecture halls and other facilities.
