UK retailers on the way to Dublin for major property exhibition

The recovery in Ireland’s retail economy has attracted one of the UK’s largest retail and leisure property exhibitions to Dublin for the first time.

‘Completely Retail & Leisure Marketplace Ireland’ will take place on Tuesday 24th February at the CHQ building, George’s Dock, and is bringing together leading UK and Irish retailers, property companies and agents, to discuss leasing and investment opportunities in Ireland.

Over 300 retailers will be in attendance, including 100 representatives from the UK’s leading retail firms with an interest in establishing or expanding their presence in Ireland.

Savills – Ireland’s largest commercial property advisors – are one of the event’s core sponsors and their Head of Commercial, Larry Brennan, says that it is very timely for an event of this kind to focus on Ireland.

“Ireland’s economic recovery is having a positive knock-on effect on the retail sector. Strong employment growth is positively influencing consumer sentiment and retail sales are continuing on an upward trajectory. Consequently, retailers are engaging with the property market and there is now strong demand for space on prime high streets and shopping centres – both in Dublin and in the main regional cities. It is a very exciting time for Ireland’s retail sector," he said.

H&M, Weatherspoon, Iceland, Boots, Zara, Massimo Dutti, Smyths Toys, Holland & Barrett, Peacocks, Insomnia Coffee, Tesco ROI, Carluccios, Henderson Retail Ltd, Centra / SuperValu and Omniplex Cinemas are just a sample of the local and international retailers who will be in attendance at the event to discuss opportunities in Ireland’s retail property market.
