Things looking up in property market

Things appear to be looking up in the property market with two of the biggest estate agents reporting positive news to kick-start the year.

According to Sherry FitzGerald they have registered over 1,000 buyers in January while there were 500 viewers to their properties last week alone in what can only be deemed as a positive lift in the market.

Meanwhile Savills have recently released a report showing that letting activity in the Dublin office market showed an increase of 25% last year compared to 2010 and reached twice the total occupied in 2009.

The news follows incentives in last year’s Budget offering any first time buyer who purchases this year interest relief of 25% for the first two years. Non first-time buyers will also get mortgage interest relief at a rate of 15% from this year through to 2017.
