We’ve all marvelled at the work that takes place on shows such as Room to Improve and Grand Designs and wished we could own a home like the ones featured in the popular TV shows.
Well, now you can.
11 Barron Place in Drumcondra has just come back on the market via Sherry FitzGerald having sold last May for €280,000.
The buyers decided to gut the property and renovate it and what a job they’ve done, as our pictures show.
They changed the multi-paned windows to the front to large single panes of glass to add privacy. They also insulated the exterior, now painted a deep green, to bring the BER of this mid-terraced house up from an F to a D1 rating.
According to an article on the property in The Irish Times: “At least five layers of wallpaper and flooring were peeled away, a brick fireplace was replaced with a wood-burning stove and gas-fired central heating was installed.
“The ground floor was opened up and floored with a timber-look laminate, while a marble-effect laminate on kitchen counters was sourced from The Panelling Centre. Encaustic cement tiles bought online from Mosaic del Sur make for a very smart splashback. The same tiles form the hearth underneath the stove. The back wall is now entirely of glass and overlooks a north-facing back garden laid out as a gravel, stepped space.”
Other changes with regard to furniture and lighting have completely transformed this home.
11 Barron Place is open for viewing this Saturday from 11am to 11.30am with full details available here.
