Tesco won't be offering mortgages here

Tesco have ruled out the possibility of them entering the Irish mortgage market, despite offering home loans in the UK.

A spokesperson for the retailer told Metro Herald: “There are no plans to expand our financial services in Ireland to include a mortgage service.

“Ireland is a very different market to the UK as far as Tesco is concerned and it has a different regulatory system.”

Tesco currently offers home and car insurance and credit cards as part of its offering while customers can also make savings on household bills using their clubcard points.
