Along with the legendary Stephen Roche, one of Ireland’s most famous sporting sons, who was centrally associated with the event once again there was a host of Irish sporting celebrities who turned out in their hoards to support the event at the Friday night Gala dinner, among them were; Lisa Cummins, the only Irish person to swim the English channel to France and back in one go! Cork hurler, Donal O' Cusack and Former Munster player John Kelly.
The Tour De Cure Charity Cycle which was based out of Midleton in County Cork, saw nearly 1300 cyclists take to the various circuits last weekend and helped to raise over €50,000 which will go towards supporting existing Cancer Care at the Mercy University Hospital in Cork City, aiding and supporting care for Special Needs Clients who attend COPE Foundation within and across Cork and to raise awareness for Anaphylaxis in Ireland.
