The former home of singer Ronan Keating has gone on the market in Co Kildare with an asking price of €1.25m.
The Boyzone frontman lived in the seven bed Kara Lodge in Stacumney, Celbridge with his wife Yvonne for three years in the early ‘Noughties.
The couple bought the house in 1999 for over £700,000 (about €890,000).
In 2001 they sold the lodge again, and were hoping to get €1m for it. At their first attempt at an auction, bidding peaked at €850,000 so they withdrew it and sold it afterwards for an undisclosed amount. At the peak of the market the house was valued at around €3.2m.
Set on five acres, the property extends to a phenomenal c.8,000 sq. ft.
While the main qualities must be seen to be fully appreciated, according to estate agents DNG McCormack, some of the key features are a 36 foot swimming pool with shower and sauna, a large function room with bar ideal for entertaining, a self-contained area of three open plan rooms ideal for many purposes including an executive office suite and a balcony area overlooking the sitting room.
