Record €29m spent at Allsop Space auction

A record sum of almost €29m was spent on property yesterday at the first Allsop Space auction of the year at the RDS.

In total 167 lots were offered for sale on the day, with 89% of them selling for a total of €28,791,000.

Some of the biggest sellers on the day were a Spar shop and three apartments at 13, 14 and 15 Mainguard Street in Galway, which went for €1.9m.

The Boylesports Headquarters in Dundalk also sold for €1.875m, while the Magic Carpet Centre in Cornelscourt in Dublin sold for €1.825m.

A residential development comprising two apartments and six mews houses in Woodbrook Place, Bishopstown, Co Cork, also sold for €1,020,000.
