Real Estate Alliance unveil catalogue for October auction

Estate agency group the Real Estate Alliance have unveiled their catalogue of 20 properties for their first auction of the year in the Davenport Hotel in Dublin on October 17th.

The catalogue features a selection of properties around the country including a pub, a guest house, three offices, two industrial properties and 10 residential units – all with a combined guide price of €1.58m.

Seven of the properties are located in Dublin with the remainder spread around Leinster and Connacht. A separate auction concentrating on the Munster region is planned for Limerick later in the year.

The most valuable lot in the catalogue is Firmount House in Clane, Co Kildare, a 1,207sqm Victorian property on five acres which has a €295,000 guide price.

This is a 63% reduction on the €800,000 guide price sought for the same property at auction two years ago. It is being sold by the Department of Defence and had been used by the Civil Defence organisation.

Originally it was a British Military Hospital and retains many period features. After some of the building was reinforced some locals believed that it was earmarked as a hiding place for the Irish Government in the event of military attack.

Two of the office units are in Malahide, Co Dublin. One at New Street has a €100,000 guide while another at The Marina Village has a €50,000 guide. Two office units overlooking Howth Harbour have a combined €40,000 guide.

The only pub, known as The Village Pub, in Clonmellon, Co Westmeath, sits on a 0.5 acre site and has a €150,000 guide price.

The two Dublin industrial units are: one at Clondalkin Industrial Estate which has a €75,000 guide price; and the other at Feltrim Business Park, Swords, which has a €125,000 guide price.
