Quinn Property sells four parcels of land at auction

Wexford based auctioneers

Quinn Property had over 100 people turn out for their auction at the Loch Garman Arms last week for the sale of four separate parcels of land outside Gorey.

Speaking to the New Ross Standard, David Quinn of Quinn Property said it was a very good day.

Lot 1, 15.75 acres at Clonsilla sold to a local farmer for €175,000. Lot 2, 6.5 acres at Ballinastraw, with sheds and outbuildings, sold for €124,000, almost €20,000 per acre. It sold to a businessman from the Gorey area.

Lot 3, thirteen acres at Ballinastraw, sold to a person from the Gorey area for €156,000, while Lot 4, five acres at Ballinastraw, sold to a local farmer for €69,000.

In total, the 40 acres sold for €524,000, an average of around €13,000. David Quinn said there were at least 20 bidders on the day, and others didn't even get a chance to put in a bid.

Quinn Property will put two more properties under the hammer next month.

A farmyard, with outbuildings, on 20.7 acres, at Kilcavan, Tara Hill, will be auctioned on Thursday, May 17. It will be sold in two lots, and is being guided at around €10,000 per acre.

On Monday, May 14, 11 acres at Cullenogue, Inch will be auctioned, with a guide price of around €10,000. The sale also includes the option of a 10,000 gallon milk quota.
