Over 90% return property tax forms

 

The Revenue Commissioners had received almost 1,518,000 filings for the Local Property Tax by 4pm yesterday afternoon, indicating a compliance rate above 90%.
Revenue had sent 1.66m notifications to liable property owners and had aimed for compliance of 80% by the end of the year.
Almost three quarters of the returns made to date have been electronic, while 22% have been paper filings and 5% done over the phone.
The deadline for property tax returns, which was extended on Tuesday, was 8pm yesterday evening.
The Revenue Commissioners' Local Property Tax helpline number is 1890-200-255.
Addressing the Joint Committee on Finance, Pubic Expenditure and Reform, Revenue Chairman Josephine Feehily said she now expected the tax to contribute €100 million to the May Exchequer figures, due to be announced next week.
