Over three quarters of homeowners valued their properties at less than €200,000 when filing their Local Property Tax Returns.
Figures released by the Revenue Commissioners today show that 1.59 million properties have been registered for the tax so far, with a national compliance rate of 90%.
More than €200 million has been brought in from the property tax since its introduction with the Revenue revealing today that 75.4% or 1.2 million properties were valued at under €200,000.
Of this, almost 25% were in the lowest price band of under €100,000.
Most valuations, however, were in the €100,000 to €150,000 category, with just 3,180 people valuing their house or apartment at over €1 million.
The lowest compliance rates have been in Donegal and Louth at 84% with Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown the highest at 92%.
Most payments were made by credit or debit card, with just half a percent having their payments deducted from wages or pensions.
