Mortgage arrears continue to increase

There’s been a further increase in the number of people in mortgage arrears for more than 90 days.

The Central Bank says there were over 99,000 mortgages more than 90 days in arrears at the end of September, an increase of just over 1,300 over the past three months.

In the Dáil Fianna Fáil raised how nearly 32,000 homeowners are now in arrears for more than two years.

Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore blamed the party for that legacy and warned banks that they needed to resolve this.
