More than 109,000 opt to pay property tax by cash

More than 109,000 opt to pay property tax by cash

Payzone have revealed that more than 109,000 homeowners opted to pay their property tax in cash.

Property owners who have yet to pay have until the end of this month to make the payments through a network of 2,000 Payzone outlets throughout the country.

To date, in excess of 1.56m Local Property Tax Returns have been filed with the Revenue Commissioners.

The cash payments can be made in a single payment or on a weekly or monthly basis with transaction charges of between 75 cent and €2 depending on the amount paid in.

In a statement as part of their annual report, Payzone has confirmed that 7% of homeowners have chosen to pay by cash.
