Kilkenny home sells for €2.57m at auction

 

A Georgian country house on a 140-acre farm three miles from Kilkenny City sold for €700,000 over its guide price last week.

The auction for the estate – known as Pigeon Park House - was carried out by ERA Donohoe Properties, who sold it for €2.57m, well above its €1.8m reserve.

Located in Danesfort, the residence extends to 297sqm and its accommodation includes five bedrooms, a sitting room, dining room, kitchen and downstairs bathroom.

There are also outbuildings in the courtyard but the property is understood to require some modernisation.

The identity of the buyer was not disclosed.
