KBC Bank Ireland to make an additional €100 million available for mortgages in 2017

KBC Bank Ireland are set to make an additional €100 million available for new mortgages this year.

The bank’s chief executive Wim Verbraeken confirmed the news to ‘Inside Business’, a podcast from The Irish Times.

If the plans go about this would bring KBC Bank Ireland’s lending for home loans to about €750 million for this year, up from €650 million in 2016.

“We would expect an increase of about 15 per cent [in mortgage lending] this year,” he said.

Earlier this week KBC Bank Ireland confirmed their committed to the Irish market with Mr Verbraeken insisting that “overall KBC is very positive about the long-term future in Ireland.”
