Island Investment Adventure
Dursey Island

If you want to get away from it all, the "hustle & bustle", Dursey Island, a final fragment of Ireland, the southwestern tip of the Beara peninsula will supply you the remoteness you are looking for along with the most breathtaking views of the Cork Coast line and the Atlantic Ocean.

A unique opportunity now exists ... to acquire an old traditional style Farmhouse which is for sale on the island. Dursey is about four miles long and one and a half miles wide, with no shop or pub and is inhabited by 3 families that make up staggering population count of 6. It is safe to say that Dursey Island is the most isolated outpost of County Cork. Reaching the island involves a trip in a Heath Robinson-designed cable car, the only working cable car in Ireland. Apparently it is licensed to carry three people and a cow (I wonder can you substitute people for cows?) across a very narrow and treacherous sound (& that"s on a good day). Living on Dursey gives you priority to the interesting cable car journey over the floods of visitors to the island.

There are obviously quite more to the island than the cable car! Peace & quite, fresh air and happy stress free living can all be found here. Take a look...
