I love the hotel part of going away / holidays. There is just something about a nice hotel room. Peace, quiet and relaxing. Well now you could live in a hotel room - if you wanted too!
Property developer Liam Carroll who owns and closed two hotels in Tallaght last January; The Glashaus Hotel and the Tallaght Cross Hotel has reopened both but ... not as hotels.
In order to improve cash flow and to make use of his buildings and investments that would probably be idle for the immediate future has cleverly decided to rent out the 234 rooms instead! The rooms, which are being advertised as "Studio Apartments" are fully furnished, with a large double bed, complete with duvet and pillows; a table and two chairs as well as a desk, wardrobe, TV and safe. Only draw back is that the rooms do not have kitchens but kettles and microwaves have been added.
Monthly double bed room rent rate is approx €575-€600. Heating and electricity is included in the rent, as is parking between the hours of 6pm and 10am.The only disadvantage or downside is that the communal spaces of the hotels i.e. the restaurants and bars, have been closed off.
