Hogan to scrutinise regeneration of Limerick estates

Minister for the Environment Phil Hogan will travel to

Limerick later this week to scrutinise progress in the Regeneration of Limerick estates.

The Minister recently described the multi-million euro scheme as “a scandal” and pointed to the lack of physical construction that has taken place in Moyross, Southill, St Mary's Park and Ballinacurra Weston.

Contracts for the current regeneration board end in June and the agencies will be subsumed into the amalgamated city and county council.

This Friday Minister Hogan will hold meetings with Limerick Regeneration and the local authorities to discuss how best to proceed.

Recently appointed Housing Minister, Limerick's Jan O'Sullivan has responsibility for the scheme.
