Hard or Soft Water: Does it make a difference?

Water
Well yes it does. Hard water is usually heavy in minerals. Not only can it give you dry skin, it can also leave a scummy residue around taps, sinks, baths and showers. The residue can cause corrosion and rust to develop on affected areas. Depending on the type of water you have, you should use different cleaning products in your home.

So how do ... you know if your water is hard or soft?

There is a quick test. Heat a cup of water in the microwave and place a teabag in the cup. Leave for a few minutes. If the water is clear, then your water is soft. If there is a layer of scum on the top of the tea or if the tea is cloudy, then the water is hard.

A quick tip for cleaning hard water scum from sinks, baths and showers. Heat up some vinegar and apply with a cloth. This should do the job.
