Just five properties sold under the hammer at today’s Merlin Property auction in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Golden Lane in Dublin.
With one property being withdrawn before the start of the event, 20 lots went under the hammer in the company’s second property auction since moving into the field last November.
In the end though, just €399,000 with many of the others not coming close to reaching their advised minimum values.
Negotiations are continuing in an effort to shift more of the properties but overall the event could be described as disappointing.
The big winner of the day was a woman who bought her brother’s former five bed detached house in Castlepollard, Co Westmeath back for €76,000.
Other properties to sell were a 4 bed detached home at Slaney Bank, Rathvilly, Co Carlow (€110,000) a 3 bed semi-detached home in Monasterevin, Co Kildare (€86,000) and an apartment in Carleton Wharf in Youghal, Co Cork (€69,000).
A three bed cottage in Clifden Glen in Galway also sold for €58,000 but this was €6,000 under its advised minimum value.
Merlin Property, who ran the event in association with Murphy Mullan Auctioneers, will hold their next auction on July 25th.
