A number of estate agents are to meet with the governor of the Central Bank today to discuss the property market.
Amongst the items to be discussed with Patrick Honohan include the impact of lending restrictions on property sales. It follows a call from Finance Minister Michael Noonan for the Central Bank to review the rules, which he said are preventing first-time buyers from purchasing starter homes and contributing to spiralling rents.
According to the Irish Independent, it’s set to be an ‘information-sharing meeting’, with around 15 people invited.
