ECB leaves interest rates unchanged

The European Central Bank yesterday agreed to leave interest rates unchanged.

There had been some speculation that another rate cut could be on the cards but they have opted against this for at least another month.

The current interest rate stands at a record low of 0.25% - a figure which is unlikely to rise in the foreseeable future.
