There was good news for tracker mortgage holders today as the ECB announced it was leaving its interest rate unchanged.
The current rate of 0.5% is at an historic low and automatically affects those on tracker mortgages whenever it rises or falls.
Every time the rate increases by quarter of a percentage point it adds €15 a month to a mortgage per €100,000 borrowed.
