ECB leave interest rates unchanged

The European Central Bank has left its interest rate unchanged today, as had been expected.

In July the ECB said it would keep rates at current or lower levels for an “extended period”.

Their move today means that rates remain at a record low of 0.5%.

The ECB rate has a direct effect on tracker mortgages and there have even been hints that the rate would fall lower if the current slight recovery in the Eurozone recovery fails to last.
