Commercial rates in Dublin will be reduced next year. Dublin City councillors agreed a 1.7% reduction at their annual budget meeting on Monday night.
€60m is to be saved by privatising bin collections and capital spending is to be halved.
Welcoming the news, Dublin Chamber of Commerce says it is now up to other local authorities to follow the lead of Dublin City Council. Aebhric McGibney, from Dublin Chamber, says a rate reduction across the capital is needed.
