DTZ: Irish Commercial Property Market Review Summer 2011

DTZ Summer Review 2011

DTZ have released their Summer 2011 Irish Commercial Property Market Review providing second quarter results and analysis for the various sectors of the commercial property market and an economic overview. The report also looks at some of the major issues facing sub sectors of the Irish property industry.

In Summary;
  • Dublin Office Market: At the mid way point of the year, performance in the Dublin office market has been mixed. Activity was robust during the opening quarter but weakened during the second quarter. That said, market indicators did improve as the year progressed.
  • Dublin Industrial Market: Performance in the Dublin industrial market, while still very challenging, is more favourable than has been over the last number of years. Following a positive start to the year, with both the volume of transacted space and key demand indicators up, the second quarter witnessed a continuation of this trend with robust levels of space transacted.
  • Regional Commercial Market: Performance across the regional commercial markets improved considerably during the second quarter of the year. Admittedly off of a low base, it compares favourably to the mixed and largely weaker performance experienced across the regions in the previous quarter.
  • Irish Retail Market: Pressures continue to mount in the Irish retail market with the majority of retailers experiencing the toughest market conditions in decades.
