The cost of groceries is still on the rise - with the price of some items nearly doubling in the past two years.
A survey carried out by the Irish Independent shows that many household staples now cost nearly 9% more than 2011 - up from €209 to €227.
Biscuits, rashers, dog food and breakfast cereal all saw the biggest increase of 30-40%.
Out of the 53 products checked, 20 stayed the same and only five dropped in price.
