Construction output expected to fall by 9% this year

Construction output is expected to fall to €7.75 billion euro this year, a drop of 9% on last year. It is however an improvement of 27% on the previous year.

The results were produced by global construction consultants Davis Langdon.
Paul Mitchell, Director of its Irish Office said on Morning Ireland that looking on the bright side at least the rate of decline had slowed. He noted that the stimulus spending by NAMA should boost activity but warned that there was a danger of a "brain drain" of specific professions and skilled sub-contractors.
