Another successful O'Donnellan & Joyce auction

Galway-based auctioneers O’Donnellan & Joyce held their last auction of the summer season recently where 14 properties were placed under the hammer and attracted a packed auction room.

The first property to be auctioned was a detached house in Ballyglunin, Tuam, which attracted five interested parties. Bidding commenced at €125,000 and under bidders came from all over the room until the hammer fell at €166,000 to tremendous applause from the packed auction room.

The second property was a residence at Barrack Street in Loughrea. This was a semi-derelict residence in need of total refurbishment, located in the heart of Loughrea. It came to market with an AMV of €30,000 and sold for €49,000 and received tremendous applause and cheers from the remaining crowd.

The third property was a commercial unit at No 3 An Triantan, Bothar na Choiste, Headford Road. This 1,100sq ft unit was sold for €33,500. Immediately after that property number four, a unit at No 4 An Triantan, Bothar na Choiste, Headford Road, was auctioned. This commercial unit, also 1,100sq ft, sold for €38,000.

The fifth property to be auctioned was No 106 Forster Court, Forster Street, Galway, a four bedroom semidetached residence within walking distance of the city centre which attracted exceptional bidding, commencing at €160,000 and increasing in increments of €2,000 until eventually it came down to two individual bidders and was sold for €181,000.

The next property was a detached four bedroom residence at Clonboo, Headford, standing on a half acre site and finished to an extremely high standard and presented in immaculate condition. The property attracted two individuals but was withdrawn at €148,000 and was ultimately sold.

The seventh property to be sold was a semidetached residence at No 11 Cherry Park, Newcastle, a three bedroom semidetached residence in proximity of NUIG and UHG. This property attracted two interested parties. Bidding commenced at €130,000 and it was sold for €140,000.

The next property to be placed under the hammer was Unit 1 in Spiddal, a 350sq ft commercial unit located just off the main street in the heart of Spiddal village. The property attracted two interested parties and sold at €39,000 to a delighted purchaser.
