Property advisory firm and auction specialist Allsop have launched a new charity cycle, which will take place on Sunday May 10th.
The Allsop 100 cycle challenge is in aid of Childline and will involve 100 cyclists, cycling 100 kilometres to raise €100,000 for the children’s support charity.
The event will get underway on May 10th from Lansdowne Rugby Football Club in Dublin 4 and will take in a route around the Wicklow countryside.
Commenting at the launch of what will be an annual cycle challenge event company chief executive Stephen McCarthy said, "we are delighted to be associated with and supporting such a valuable and much needed service for children in Ireland today. Childline receives 1800 contacts from children and young people each and every day and we were quite shocked to hear that a shortage of funding is currently threatening this service.
"Childline, given the work they do, stood out for us in Allsop as a most worthy cause and one we are determined to support so that their great work will continue for many more years to come. Establishing the Allsop 100 has allowed us as a business to engage our clients and staff and challenge us all to do something that is healthy and fun while at the same time benefits children, many of whom are in a more vulnerable situation. I applaud them all for doing so and thank them for generously giving up their time to do the Allsop 100".
