Over 30 thousand Galway homeowners have now registered their septic tanks.
Households who fail to register by midnight tonight will not be eligible for financial support if their system should fail an inspection.
To date, the LGMA has received over 360,000 registrations nationally, over 29 thousand 500 of these were from county Galway and a further 618 from the city.

According to the 2011 Census, there are over 497 thousand septic tanks and other on-site waste-water treatment systems in the State.
