Rootiagh, Crecora, Co Limerick, sold after auction last week for a price believed to be in the region of over €29,000/ac.Tom Crosse of GVM Property Sales would not be drawn on the sales price but it is believed to be in the region of €320,000.
Staying in Limerick, the executor sale of a 36ac residential farm at Ballinamona, Hospital brought the crowds to the local Community Centre where Gerald Mitchell of EJ Mitchell auctioneers brought the hammer down and sold the holding for €383,000 or over €10,000/ac.
Located 1.6km from Hospital town, the farm was all in grass and laid out in six easily managed fields. Water is supplied by a private well, as well as the river Mahore, which runs at the rear of the farm. A house on the property, reached by a private avenue, is in need of substantial repair and renovation.
Up to six bidders were in action when proceedings opened at €200,000.
The property went on the market at €350,000 and was knocked down at €383,00 to a solicitor believed to be acting for a local farmer.
