The 2026 World Snooker Championship got underway at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield last weekend and runs through to May 4th.
This is the 50th consecutive year that the Championship is being staged at the venue, which has become the home of snooker globally.
This year the now Irish resident Ronnie O’Sullivan will be aiming for his eighth title and first since 2022.
Snooker has always been popular on this island, with Ken Doherty and Alex Higgins amongst the major winners produced here.
