When buying a home it is so important to choose your professional team wisely. For most people home purchase is one of the largest financial transactions you will make. The process can be challenging and you need home buying partners that you trust and that work on your behalf.

When: Before you start your home search you need to have approval in place.

Fees: Our service is FREE to YOU.

We get paid by the lender you choose to take your mortgage with, but importantly, the amount we get paid is the same regardless of the lender or product you choose.

Life Advisor - you will need life cover in place before you draw down your mortgage. At doddl we work with all life providers in Ireland and we price match & apply discounts to ensure you get the right cover at the right price.

  1. Solicitor 

Why: You need a solicitor to complete a process called conveyancing so that you can buy a home.

When: You will generally appoint a solicitor once you are sale agreed.

Fees: Budget €3,000 for legal fees and costs such as registration & searches.

  1. Surveyor

Why: If you are purchasing a second hand home you may choose to have a survey carried out to ensure the house is structurally sound.

When: You will generally appoint a surveyor once you are sale agreed and pre signing contracts.

Fees: Budget €500 but fee csn vary based on size, location and type of property.

  1. Valuer 

Why: When purchasing a home all banks require that a valuation is completed on the property. Each bank has their own panel of valuers.

The valuer will confirm the value of the property and prepare a report.

When: After you go sale agreed on a home & before you receive your loan offer or sign contracts.

Fee: Budget €200.
