The home of former Taoiseach Charles Haughey has sold for a price in the region of around €5.5m.
Agents Sherry Fitzgerald said they would make a full statement tomorrow but confirmed the sale of the property that includes 250 acres of land.
The lands, and the 18th century 14-bedroom home designed by James Gandon, have been purchased by an overseas investor for a sum close to the guide price of €5.5m.
The property in North Dublin was sold by the Haughey family in 2004 for €45 million to the Manor Park home building company.
Last year the property was put back on the market by Sherry Fitzgerald on behalf of receivers, Kavanagh Fennells.
The late Charlie Haughey purchased Abbeville when he was Finance Minister in 1969.
Even though the property had been sold Charlie Haughey was allowed live there until he died and his wife Maureen resided there until 2008.
